I got to fly today!
I love the way that AcroYoga makes me feel. It cultivates an intimate connection with others as well as an empowered sense of freedom within me, so it is healing on both the social and individual level. I found myself missing it while abroad, so I was lucky that the universe was on my side and helped me find some AcroYogis to fly with at a jam session by the Temple of Debod in Madrid.
Feeling the soft, dewy grass beneath my bare feet reminded me of being on Maui again. However, this time, there was a grand rebuilt Egyptian temple (from the 2nd century BC) behind us (I continue to struggle with accepting that this unreal journey is as real as it gets)!
I am fortunate that I was not only able to feel connected and free today, but also share the experience with new friends. It is mind-blowing how one common interest can bring together seemingly random individuals (Although, is anything in life ever random?). It also makes me laugh (Remember: laughing is good because smiling releases dopamine) that my oldest friends here are people that I have met a mere 13 days ago (and yet, it somehow feels much longer than that)!
To conclude this anecdote, I will end with: as we were walking away from the Acro jam, my friend turned to face me with a peaceful smile and said, “This is a great day.” I could not have agreed more.
Peace, Love, & Happiness (Paz, Amor, & Felicidad),

Jake and I just attempted to recreate this AcroYoga pose. We were considerably less graceful and needed Erica to serve as spotter. But we mostly pulled it off. Thanks for the inspiration!

It makes me smile to know that you brought some AcroYoga into your home; I hope that there were many smiles and laughs! I am sure that Jake was an elegant flyer and you a solid base! Anytime is prime Acro-time 🙂

I was actually the flier and Jake was the base. Maybe that is where we went wrong … Anyway, his cast will be off in 6-8 weeks and we can try again.
